SATURDAY 7th JANUARY
A wet and windy morning again. Managed to whiz around the town well before 10 to do my weekend shopping as I had no appointments till later. Had a very busy day thereon and didn’t get finished till nearly 4. I had some very interesting jobs to attend to and got back to watch a good bit of the racing on Channel 4 + 1. My selections failed miserably only managing 2 seconds and a third. Must try harder! Alan sent a text at about 6 inviting me for a “swift one” and I immediately responded. The whole crew were there, Big Dave, the Seeleys, and Ding Dong. Only absentee was Willy One-Eye ( who is in love). I just stayed for a short while and then home for a nice “evening in”. Cooked myself an exemplorary chicken and mushroom pie with scrummy shortcrust pastry. Really delicious!
