Thursday 13th August; Crowds in town and the place was buzzing! Lovely to see so many people about enjoying a brief glimpse of summer. Was busy all day not finishing till 7. Got back to the office and realised I was without my keys. Had to go up to Helen’s to get hers. She and David were decorating their Dining Room and looking rather good too. Got washed and polished for the Farmer’s Quiz. The place was full with 30 teams competing. The Rollover Money (£200.50) was NOT WON. Deborah was asked ” In which year did Prime Minister Edward Heath steer the England Team to victory in the Admiral’s Cup?”. Do you know? Send an email to ralphspours@btconnect.com if you think you do. Had a good chat with Mick Beck who is recovering from an ankle operation. He is walking without a stick now and should be back at work shortly. Home shortly after 11 and then straight off to bobo’s.

Hi Ralph,
Hope you don’t mind me contacting you, you’ve sold a couple of houses on our behalf. We were searching for one of Ian’s old friends, Barry Beck, and when we did a google of his dad’s name “Mick Beck Ulverston”, you came top of the results! You had written an article last August which mentioned him. I assume you’re pals with Mick? If so, I don’t suppose you would be able to get him to get in touch with us would you? Or ask him to pass on Ian’s number to Barry? Ian and Barry were good friends when they were kids, indeed their parents were also friends and holidayed together. Barry helped us work on 5 Ainslie Street back in 2004 (the house which you subsequently sold for us..) However Ian lost his phone at some point and he ended up losing touch with Barry after we moved house. Anyway, I’m sure you’re busy so I won’t waffle on!
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Hi Leigh,
Very nice to hear from you. I hope you and Ian are well.
I see Mick Beck most Thursday’s as he is a “regular” at the Farmer’s Quiz, which i still host, and I will pass the info directly to him. His lovely wife Sue works at Playdale in Haverthwaite and that is wher the elusive Barry Beck works too! How about that for a co-incidence?
Kindest Reagrds,
Ralph
