Tuesday 24th August; Firstly CONGRATULATIONS to all those great kids who did so well in their GCSE examinations. Especially my Granddaughter Marissa Flower and my Grandson Jack Gardner who did brilliantly well! Well done! Helen had the day off to go down to Stafford on the train and meet up with Lisa who had come up from Ascot to hand over my Granddaughter Amber who is 10, and is coming to stay “up north” for a few days! Picked them up from Ulverston Station at 5.30 and took them to visit Clare, Martin, Josh and Marissa before dropping them off at Helen’s place. Amber is coming to “work in the Office” on Thursday. She has her uniform all ready and I have lots of shredding jobs for her to get on with! Had a good day at work, managing to sell 2! A nice sensation that I never tire of. Home for a nice tea of the warmed-up remains of Ralph’s Luxury Fish Pie, and had another stab at the crossword and watched Dan Cruickshank on the box. The forecast for the Bank Holiday seems to be quite good. Certainly hope so as I am going to Cartmel Races on Monday as a Guest of Chas Kendall ( perhaps as some consolation prize for all the money he has taken off me?).
Amber-Mimi visits Ulverston!
