Alone in the Office!

August 31, 2010

Thursday 26th August; Another bright and sunny morning!  The north of the country seems to be faring better than the south where there is severe rain.  And the weather is set fair for the Bank Holiday Weekend too.  That is good  news.  It was Cartmel Races Thursday night meeting but I was unable to go.  Will content myself with my Monday Outing.  Helen had the day off to take Amber to Fellfoot Park with David,  Marissa and Clare.  They were taking the blow-up canoe so heaven knows how that would go.  Had a good day other than one of the Shops had a flooding disaster so Matt the Plumber rushed to help!  It was Market Day and there was a good crowd in town enjoying the sunshine whilst listening to the Band in the Market Place.  So English?  There’s always a queue at George Wilson’s Fish Van and this week was no exception.  Reminiscent of Ration Book days when people would just join a queue,  not necessarily knowing what they were queuing for!  The conversation is always good though!  Did not finish till well after 6.  Hosted the Farmer’s Quiz  with 26 teams competing this week.  A good night was had by all.  Rosemary tried to answer the Rollover Question (£150.75) but, sadly,  failed. It will be about £175 next week.
