Sunday 29th August; Woke up to glorious sunshine.   Lovely.  A long hot bath followed by,  no,  not my usual FE, but Manx Kippers! Absolutely delicious.   Went up to my Garage and put the “lid”  on the Sports Car.  She looks lovely  with the lid off and , possibly more beautiful with the lid on.  Went out for a “blast” which is certain to put a broad grin on my aging countenance.  Met up with Helen and David,  Amber,  Marissa,  Jack, Clare and Martin and climbed up Hoad Hill.  It was blowing a gale on the top. There was already a crowd waiting to gain entry to the Monument and we joined the queue.   Climbed up the 112 steps to the very top and “wow”,   it was brilliant!   Absolutely fabulous!  I have never been up the Monument before.  It was most impressive.  Make the effort and see for yourself.  I am certain you will not be disappointed. Down the hill then and off home and sat out in the Roof Garden for an hour with a pot of Lapsang Souchong before meeting up with D for Cocktails at 5.  It was Super Sunday,  of course,  so the pub was more full than usual.  Met up with a nice crowd of folk and then home,  a spot of late tea,  a bit of tv then off to bobo’s.
